 About the Society

The Egyptian Women’s Dermatologic Society (EWDS)  was founded by Professor Zenab M.G. El-Gothamy and registered in the Social Solidarity under number 3817in 1991. It offers cultural, scientific, educational and social services through: seminars and training courses in different aspects of dermatology; annual international conferences; publication of a high quality scientific journal (JEWDS). EWDS is performing therapeutic convoys and awareness campaigns about skin diseases and protection against skin infections to poor areas in Egypt.  Members are female dermatologists from the different hospitals and universities of Egypt. Membership continues to increase and there are currently around 500 members.

  About the Journal

The Journal of The Egyptian Women's Dermatologic Society (JEWDS)  is an international open access peer  reviewed journal. It is the official journal of the Egyptian Women's Dermatologic Society (EWDS). JEWDS welcomes online submission from all the world. JEWDS encourages  dermatological researchers to publish their valuable reviewed scientific work to be visible across the world through JEWDS website www.jewds.com, OVID and SCOPUS. 

JEWDS aims to fill the knowledge gap in understanding the pathogenesis of dermatological diseases for better disease management by dermatologists around the world. Genetic, molecular, immunologic, microbiologic, biochemical and clinical trials  original articles for skin diseases are the main scope of the journal. Review articles about the hot topics in dermatology are highly encouraged. The editorial board is interested in publishing the following diseases; psoriasis, vitiligo, acne, hidradenitis supurativa, alopecia and mycosis fungoides. Submitted original articles, case reports, correspondence, review articles are published after double blinded peer reviewing.

Journal Ethics

Open Access Publication and Creative Commons Licensing

This is an open access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

The journal will cover technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of The Journal of The Egyptian Women’s Dermatologic Society (JEWDS) is a peer-review Journal published bi-annually in January and July. Original articles, review articles, case reports and letters to the editor submitted for publication will be considered. Their subject should pertain to dermatology or a related scientific and technical subject within the field of dermatology. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference.
